I enjoyed the “Essentials of Leadership” course because it focuses on the key elements managers need to become effective leaders. Businesses typically take their star performers and insert them into management positions without providing them the skills to be effective leaders. The course taught me effective leadership techniques before I had to learn them through bad experiences. I especially liked the workshop format because the instructor, a successful and experienced leader, coached me while I practiced the leadership skills I had just learned. I also liked learning how my personality affects my leadership style and the course showed me techniques for overcoming personal tendencies to be a better leader. I highly recommend this course for any manager who has not received leadership training, regardless of how experienced you are. If you are open to growing, this course is for you.
